The start of things

Re-imagine estimation & bidding experience

Our founder Tom started his journey in construction by helping streamline operation and software for large data center construction around the world. Fascinated by the field, he left his job and joined a Mechanical trade school—learning to work with sheet metal, duct work, pipe, and HVAC equipment. He learned alongside experienced estimators and project managers, and observed that estimation and bidding process involved “guesstimating”, broken processes, and administrative burdens.

So Grace was born to re-imagine what estimation & bidding experience should be for the Trades to make it easier, faster, and more accurate.

What’s in the name?

Grace means many things. Kindness. A chance. Forgiveness. We believe that without the help of our early customers, investors, team members and our support community — we would not be where we are today. We chose the name to never forget this and to serve our customers and team members with the same grace.

Grace is based in San Francisco, and our team members are distributed throughout the US. We are a diverse group of people interested in finding new ways to solve old problems, working hard, treating each other with respect (+ humor 😉), and having fun while at it.
